How to lose some weight and tone up a bit?
As you know it is Christmas and we tend to overeat at times! =] I am a 16 year old girl and I do not like my body, I am not comfortable with it at the moment and at the end of my school year (end of May/ beginning of June) our year goes on holidays to a hot country, which consequently means bikini's and not much clothing! We are going to Barcelona, Spain this year. And don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to go, but I just want a beach worthy body! =] I'm not morbidly obese or anything, at 5'5"-ish and nearly 130 pounds, but as you can see I'm not skinny either. I am a UK size 10, which I suppose would equal a US size 8. I would like to lose weight all over and tone up my legs, stomach and arms. Also what would be best for my diet, how many calories should I consume a day and how many should I burn? I have some exercise equipment available to me. I have Wii Fit (sadly not Wii Fit plus), exercise bike, stairs, big exercise ball, small weights, weight ball and that is all I think. So if you could give me some exercise routines, that would be very helpful too! =] Thanks a bunch to anyone who reads this or answers! And I hope you have a Happy Christmas! Mwah! x

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
Dietary control and exercise. It’s true what they say – all you need to do is watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. You can quit reading this list now, you now know everything you need to know and didn’t need to fork over $500 for the privilege of me telling you the secret of losing weight. You don’t need to read a 4,000 page book, you don’t have to buy a tape series, you don’t need to stay up late at night to watch infomercials to understand this basic premise. It’s 100% true.
Well, looks like you have everything you need except a program. I recommend going to a fitness forum and you can probably get a pretty good program tailored for you there (bodybuilding.com is a good one).
Meanwhile, here's some things you can do:
Push ups
Sit ups
Pull ups/Chin ups
Squats
Burpees (look them up on youtube, actually, look these all up on youtube, a lot of people do them wrong to start with)
Arm curls
Tricep Extension
Bench Press
1 arm row
Lunges
That should get you started.
Good luck!
Matt
Make sure you eat healthy and exercise.
To keep your weight down you will still need to eat less and/or do more physical actvity than previously. For example, if you have lost 10kg, to keep this off and maintain your weight you will still need to:
* eat about 300 calories per day less than you did prior to the weight loss diet, or
* do more physical activity to 'burn up' an extra 300 calories per day.
